Shankar Sarda (born September 4, 1937) is a critic and journalist/editor from Maharashtra, India. ==Early life== Sarda was born in 1937 in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. At his age 13, his first book ''Chatur Champa'', a collection of stories for children, was published. In the next few years, many more of his children's stories were published in children's magazines, including B. R. Bhagwat's ''Balmitra'', Sane Guruji's ''Sadhana'', Gopinath Talwalkar's ''Anand'', Vasudeo Krishnaji Bhave's ''Suman'', B. R. Modak's ''Mulanche Masik'', Virendra Adhia's ''Kumar'', and ''Loksatta'' daily's children's section. In 1949, he attended ''Kumar Sahitya Sammelan'', a literary conference, in Dahanu and the next year in Ahmedabad where he was felicitated as a young writer.
